I got to play Rock Band for the first time at “Rally in the Valley” (it’s hard to believe that with all the cool spiritual stuff that happened this is what I choose to blog about but…) and I had a blast singing “Say It Ain’t So” which go me thinking and eventually led to this list:
Greatest Albums Ever By Bands I’m Not A Major Fan Of
Weezer – The Blue Album
Bon Jovi – Blaze of Glory (Young Guns II)
Mike Knott – Strip Cycle
Yellow Card – Ocean Avenue
Crash Test Dummies – God Shuffled His Feet
What would you add?
(I’ve been downloading the torrents for some of them but I can’t find Strip Cycle anywhere. If you know where I can find it let me know.)
(Yes it is legal in Canada and I also own the album on tape if that makes you feel better)

I found Strip Cycle on ebay pretty cheap. I know you're looking to download, not buy a CD, but it's still better than tape if you can find it.
AJ: We have found a lasting bond: Singing "Say it Ain't So" by Weezer on Rock Band. I love it. Duet sometime?
Weezer a mediocre band!!! BITE YOUR TONGUE INFIDEL!!!!
Robin - Pretty cheap is not nearly so nice as free. But I may check it out.
AP - Should fate ever put us in the position to rock together - we shall my friend, we shall.
Danny - Maybe inconsistent is more accurate than mediocre to describe some of this stuff. I guess what I'm shooting for is something that says "not always awesome all the time but with fits of greatness."
Fits of greatness would be a good name for a band
Here's one.
what's the story morning glory -oasis
Oljonnyhurd: You may get shot if you ever go to England for saying that.
My votes:
Collective Soul - Collective Soul
Drive Shaft - You All Everybody
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Well first of all: The English are women when it comes to fighting. Secondly, isn't Drive Shaft a fictional band from Lost? And thirdly, Smashing Pumpkins had at least one more good album with "Melancholy and infinite sadness" which contained the hit "Bullet with Butterfly wings" which for the life of me I cannot download off itunes. Grrr...
Yes, Oljonny, I'm afraid that was a bit of humour for our friend, AJ.
As for the Pumkins, Melancholy had it's high points. They had hits on other albums. However, Siamese was solid 1 through 10 (or however many songs were on there).
I literally laughed out loud when I read "Drive Shaft" in Bryan's list. Classic.
